This page about Credit Boards will give you guidance about how to check that the credit board wiring and positionings are correct.
Credit Boards are the link from the customer dropping coins/tokens into a coin validator and the the arcade game. These boards are clever and can 'totalize' accepted coins that pass through the validator into the coin hopper.
For example: If the game is set at £1.00 per play as the Credit Board counts the value of the accepted coins, by the validator, until they reach the £1.00 set cost and then the it sends a 'credit pulse' to to the arcade game that one credit has been paid for.
Common Types of Credit Boards found in our Arcade Cabinets
Camram uses a number of different Credit Boards, however, there are a few Coin Validators that are designed to work with specific models.
Most of our Mars Validators use Mars Electronics Credit Boards which is often plugged directly into the validator and only has a small loom of wiring that feed off to the arcade game.

Excel Credit Board Klingon Credit Board Mars Electronics Credit BoardExcel (XL) Credit Board
This is our most common board. it is designed to work with a wide range of coin validators and different methods that arcade games accept credit pluses.
This board is designed to stand alone and hopefully you should not have any reason to deal with it.
That said because there is a connecting cable from the coin Validator to the XL Credit Board it is possible that during servicing of the validator this cable can become dislodged or detached from its connectors.
If the cable becomes detached from the validator please refer to the specific validator information page for guidance.
Klingon Credit Board
The Klingon board is another useful board designed to work with many different coin validators. There are several versions including v1.1, v2 and V3.2 however, all the connectors are the same.
Its clever design, like the Mars Electronics version, means that it plugs directly into the coin validator (hence Klingon; it clings to the side) and there will be small loom of wires that feed off to the arcade game.
This credit board is usually hard to dislodge. However should it become detached it will need plugging back in.
NOTE: It is possible that the Klingon Credit board might not be 'clung' to the coin validator and that it uses a cable like the XL Board. This usually means that the way the coin validator fits to the arcade machine does not allow for such positioning.
IMPORTANT: This board was so popular that there have been many clones of it. The clones tend to look very similar but with different names like NTAS.
Reattaching a Klingon Credit Board
There are two parts to refitting a Klingon credit board:
ONE: Fitting the Klingon to the validator:
On the reverse side of the Klingon credit board is a long thin black connector. This should be plugged directly into the pin header on the side of the validator.
TWO: Fitting the service and power connector to the Klingon:
Most Klingons have a 12way connector that pushes onto the large pins protruding from the credit board.
Look at the 10way connector (in some cases it might be only have 6 or so sockets). Normally the bottom of the connector is marked by a Yellow, or Red wire, then an unused connector and commonly the next socket up is a Black wire.
Align the bottom of the connector (Yellow or Red wire, sometime others colours are used) with the bottom large pin and push the connector onto the header pins. The empty/unused socket will line up with a gap on the credit board pin header between the Yellow or Red and Black wire terminals.
Mars Electronic Credit Board
This credit board is designed to fit a wide number of Mars coin validators including ME111, ME115, ME126 etc.
Like the Klingon the credit board is designed to plug directly into the coin validator, leaving only a small loom of wiring feeding into the arcade machine.
This credit board is usually hard to dislodge. However should it become detached it will need plugging back in.
In a few cases there will be a cable that connects the Validator to the Mars Credit Board.
Reattaching a Mars Electronics Credit Board
In most cases the Mars Electronics credit board is screwed to the side of the validator, making accidental removal impossible. Also the connection to the validator is usually firmly attached.
These credit boards use an 8way connector. This connector should only fit easily one way onto the pin header on the credit board (a plastic shield plate will fit against the connector firmly).
